A bit about me

Intro

After reading about games design theory and writing my own design documents after school I begun thinking seriously about studying my passion. Now after developing games at university under a rigorous workflow and in multi-disciplinary teams, I know I want to take this skillset further to a professional level. I plan on taking a year off, however during this year I will be continuing to develop my own prototypes, improving my coding ability and participating in community projects.

My future goal is to use my vision for expansive and interactive systems to benefit large-scale games and bridge market gaps. I would like to innovate in the industry to design definitive, cohesive, and multi-faceted game experiences. My design strengths are creative thinking, problem solving, and a user-friendly approach. I believe this is best exemplified in my Fight & Flight and The Phantom Lands portfolio work.

Approach

I always try and put the utmost consideration into the things I do and the people around me. I enjoy learning and experiencing new things and staying open minded; trying things I might not like is just as important to me as things I do like, as well as listening to and learning from my peers. I have a heavy sense of personal responsibility to my work and those around me; I believe it’s my duty to do everything I can, and the more I grow and learn, the more I have to offer. My personal approach to life is to remain calm and optimistic, to try and see the best in others: this helps me connect with people and has been useful in my teamwork experiences; I believe relationships, and being social, is just as important to maintain as the work you do.

Interests

My general interests include reading politics, philosophy and theology, studying Japanese, staying active and trying new things, learning new skills, and of course playing games and keeping up with the latest from the industry. I have a particular fondness for space and racing games, RPG's and heavily story-driven experiences; these are the sorts of games I would love to be a part of.
